The Franklin County Green Corps Jobs Program provides horticulture and landscaping training to low-income adults, ages 18-21, interested in obtaining a career in the green, environmental and agricultural industries. Participants work side-by-side with employees at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens learning skills in horticulture, landscape and garden maintenance and green practices. Concentrated classroom and hands-on training, including guest speakers and field trips to local businesses, provide comprehensive preparation so participants may confidently enter the job market at the end of the 32-week training program.
The 2013–2014 program begins on July 29, 2013. The deadline to apply is June 28, 2013. If interested, please contact Lawrence Jackson at ljackson@cowic.org or 614.559.5075 for more information.
Established in 2011, the Franklin County Green Corps Jobs Program is a partnership of Franklin County, Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and the Central Ohio Workforce Investment Corporation (COWIC).
