Discover the fascinating world of Dale Chihuly, renowned artist and pioneer of the American Studio Glass Movement, at The John F. Wolfe Chihuly Resource Center. With the largest permanent collection of Dale Chihuly’s glass of any botanical garden in the world, the Conservatory’s new resource center provides extensive information about the artist and his prolific body of work, including:
- Non-lending library of Chihuly books, DVDs, and exhibition catalogs
- A flat screen TV and computer station for viewing materials and researching Chihuly’s web site and information about glassmaking and artwork
- A photographic timeline illustrating the evolution of Chihuly’s work
- Glass artworks and drawings by Chihuly
Named for John F. Wolfe, chairman and CEO of The Dispatch Printing Company and publisher of The Columbus Dispatch, the resource center is designed to accommodate changing exhibitions about the artist and about glassmaking. The research collection will grow as additional materials published on the artist are added. Future phases of the center include expanding the collection of books and materials about the history of glass, and contemporary artists who are Chihuly’s colleagues and, in many cases, his students.
