FRANKLIN PARK CONSERVATORY IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
MEMBERSHIP MANAGER POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Development, the membership manager oversees the membership program at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. This individual is responsible for the development and implementation of an annual membership plan which includes marketing, special events, customer service, direct mail, ticket center conversion, volunteer recruitment, the Loyal Member Society and community relations. Additionally, the membership manager is responsible for a departmental budget, financial and membership data analysis. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree; 3-5 years experience in membership development and management, strong marketing and communication skills, excellent computer skills, a working knowledge of non-profit operations and be a team player within the development department. Salary is commensurate with experience.

BUTTERFLY SPECIALIST
This is a thirty hour a week, part-time temporary position starting late February and running through September 7, 2012. The Butterfly Specialist oversees and maintains the welfare of the pupae and adult butterflies in our collection as the primary caregiver, ensures facility compliance with United States Department of Agriculture standards, and educates the public about butterflies and the Conservatory. Position Requires: • Expert communication skills, including public speaking in front of large groups • Ability to establish good working relationships with visitors, volunteers and employees • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in record keeping • Candidate must have day and weekend availability.

BUTTERFLY AMBASSADOR
This is a part-time temporary position starting early March and running through
September 3, 2012.
The Butterfly Ambassador establishes high levels of customer service, enforces United
States Department of Agriculture compliance and educates the public about butterflies
and the Conservatory.
Position Requires:
• Expert communication skills, including public speaking in front of large groups
• Ability to establish good working relationships with visitors, volunteers and
employees
• Observant of patrons with attention to detail
• Ability to work in hot, humid conditions
• Candidate must have day, evening, and weekend availability

FULL TIME SUPPORT SERVICES COORDINATOR
We are looking for an experienced, friendly, hard-working, flexible and dedicated associate to join our Special Events Team. Daytime, evening and weekend hours required.
This position will be responsible for:

Weekday office work; including answering general inquiries via phone
and email, setting appointments for sales staff and preparing promotional
materials
-
Pre-planning, coordinating and working the day of the event, majority of
events occur on Friday, Saturday and Sundays (days & evenings), with
some weekday events
-
Providing exceptional customer service to clients and guests
-
Plan, coordinate and ensure quality of an event from the set-up time
through the post event evaluation
-
Assist bartenders with timely set up, replenishing stock and serving as
needed
-
Oversee bartenders and caterers clean up procedures at end of each
event
-
Responsible for setting up and taking down decorations for special events
-
Present for rehearsals, which are typically scheduled for Thursday and
Friday afternoons

Miscellaneous clerical work
-
Performs other duties as assigned and demonstrates focus on serving the
visitors and guests of the Conservatory
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D required
Demonstrated knowledge of customer services techniques and ability to apply in
building revenue associated events
Knowledge of basic software programs such as Word and Excel
Some knowledge of food service preferred, but not required

FULL TIME DATABASE COORDINATOR OPPORTUNITY
Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is seeking candidates for a Database Coordinator to provide support to the Development Staff by coordinating and administering data processing procedures. This position is responsible for managing donor records including gift entry and donor acknowledgement, mailing lists, data reports and overall database records utilizing Blackbaud’s Raisers Edge software program. Other responsibilities include assisting with Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens direct mail program, membership fulfillment, report generation, and providing customer support for members, donors and constituents. The ideal candidate should have an associates degree and knowledge of fundraising practices and techniques, excellent organizational, data-management, communication and interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail. This position works with confidential information requiring the ability to maintain a high degree of discretion and tact.

Ability to take instruction

PART TIME VISITOR SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE
Outstanding customer service and communication skills are required to work at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Botanica Gift Shop and Greenhouse and Visitor Center. Basic knowledge of indoor and outdoor plants and plant care is required. Basic selling, cash handling, and retail experience preferred. This part time position requires a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings and holidays. PART TIME FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECH
Applicants must have previous experience performing facility maintenance duties such as cleaning, floor care and detailed restroom care. Past experience in event set up a plus. Excellent people skills and ability to stay on task while working independently and with others is a must. PART TIME GARDEN CAFE CASHIER
The Garden Café is seeking a part time Cashier. You must be proficient in cash procedures and cash register equipment, reliable, able to work independently and have excellent time management skills. Experience in customer service within a restaurant or café environment is required and kitchen experience is a plus. All positions must pass a background check.

GARDEN CAFE & CATERING OPPORTUNITY
The Garden Cafe and Catering at Franklin Park Conservatory seek associates who want to learn about and prepare local, healthy, sustainable foods in a unique environment. Come join our talented team. Learn and contribute to all aspects of this growing cafe/catering operation from the ground up.
Culinary experience preferred.
This position is 20-30 hours per week in the cafe with the bonus of additional hours in special event catering.
