Blooms & Butterflies

It’s central Ohio’s rite of spring! Experience the emergence of hundreds of exotic butterflies and watch their release into the Conservatory’s Pacific Island Water Garden. Get an up close view as tropical species from around the globe take flight and feed on tropical blooms. Take part in daily educational presentations, family programming and hands-on activities.
Photo Competition Call for Entries
Artists are invited to submit photography of, about, or inspired by butterflies for exhibition in the Cardinal Health Gallery at the Conservatory. Abstract interpretations of this theme are encouraged. More information here.
Sacrifice + Bliss: Aurora Robson
September 9, 2012 – April 28, 2013
An environmental activist and advocate for plastic pollution awareness, multi-media artist Aurora Robson uses plastic debris, excess packaging and junk mail to create transformative works. Her large-scale sculpture and installations are displayed throughout the Conservatory’s plant collections, along with interpretative materials about environmental awareness and sustainable choices. Robson’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States and Europe.
