GINGERBREAD | Candlelight Nights | Holiday Break Entertainment

New this Year!
Discover how academy-award winning director Chuck Jones produced, directed and wrote the screenplay that turned Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” into a holiday cartoon classic. View over forty original animation drawings and production cells and learn about Jones’ legendary sixty-year career at Warner Brothers, where he brought characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig to life.

Gingerbread Display
Marvel at the gingerbread creations of six professional bakers, inspired by Chuck Jones’ cartoon classics, and  46 entries in this years gingerbread competition, now on view.

Seasonal Foliage
The Conservatory is transformed into a winter wonderland with seasonal décor and twinkling lights both indoors and out, including a display of over 1300 poinsettias of 50 different varieties, a 15-foot poinsettia tree, and over 60 evergreen trees.

Music Box Garden Railway
A whimsical model garden railway, created by nationally recognized artist Paul Busse, delights all ages with structures from classic fairytales, including Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs, The Little Old Lady Who Lived in the Shoe, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

The highlight of the holiday season! Enjoy Merry & Bright in the evening hours amidst the warm glow of candlelight and twinkling lights. Enjoy live music, expanded café offerings including a cash bar, and special programs for all ages.

December 21
6-9pm: Family Fun! – Enjoy holiday traditions celebrated in a bygone era. Sample a cup of wassail ($1) and try your hand at candle-making.

7pm: The Ohio Village Singers perform a full-length
concert of 19th-century American carols.

December 28
7pm: The Magpie Consort presents a mix of traditional, renaissance and contemporary songs.

Enjoy daily family entertainment Dec. 26 – 30. Performances at 11am and 2pm.
Free with admission.

Monday, December 26
Ventriloquist David Crone combines family-friendly comedic ventriloquism, magic and audience interaction.

Tuesday, December 27
Illusionist Hohn Steven Bloom wows with a special blend of magic, humor and family entertainment.

Wednesday, December 28
The Millennium Irish Dance Company entertains with high energy, festive Irish high step.

Thursday, December 29
The Columbus Children’s Theater performs their comedic version of Goldilocks.

Friday, December 30
The Salty Caramels, a three-piece female group perform with a variety of unique instruments.

Saturday, December 31
The New Blue of Yale University, the oldest undergraduate female a cappella group in the Ivy League.
