During the month of March, major site work excavation included the cutting in of new roads and rough grading of new turf areas around the Conservatory. New asphalt on walking paths will be placed within the next three weeks, along with grading of new soil and installation of permanent fences.
In the Bride's Garden, walls, concrete pads, and the foundation on the fountains were placed during March. In April, walls and concrete work will continue. By month's end, some top soil will be brought in and some new trees will be set.
More progress was made on the interior of the new additions including the installation, priming and painting of drywall in the north addition. The Rulon wood ceiling was installed in the large event space. Wood trim are windows and doors, base and crown moldings are being installed as well.. Work on the new elevator and stairs continued. Installation of ceramic tile, stone flooring, and carpet is underway in April.
New openings from the Show House to the rooftop gardens will be cut in April and the doors installed.
