Daily Flytrap Theatre
Each day at 1 p.m. an expert on carnivorous plants from the Conservatory’s staff or docent team presents fun facts about these unusual plants, their habitat, and their conservation and care.  The program includes a live feeding demonstration.
Free with admission

Culinary Kids – Sandwiches and Snacks (ages 5-7)
Kids get supervised run of the kitchen, choose, and assemble kid-friendly snacks and sandwiches using the garden as inspiration.

Family Fun Saturday: Puppetry
Visit between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.and enjoy hands-on family activities and performances.
Saturday, September 11, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Free with admission

10 - 11 a.m. & 11 - 12 p.m.: Puppeteer Nancy Lacher will lead families in the making of a carnivorous plant puppet. Participants will also learn the rules of puppet manipulation and other related skills. $10 for Members; $12 for Non-members

The Feast of Jointed Legs!– Cooking with Bugs! (All ages)
Chef P.R. Mantis will be in the kitchen to offer a unique demonstration of commonly eaten bugs. Learn things about world food cultures that you won’t believe or forget! Samples offered to those brave enough to try.
Saturday, September 18, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
$25 Members; $30 Non-members

Culinary Kids – Wood Fired Pizza (ages 8-12)
Make dough and homemade tomato sauce from scratch. Pick your own vegetable toppings and bake your pizza in the wood fired oven.

Imaginary Carnivorous World
The Phoenix Theatre for Children and the Conservatory presents an opportunity for kids to create an imaginary carnivorous world. Alongside Phoenix Theatre staff,kids 6-12 will create puppets, design, construct, and perform a short puppet play for their favorite adults.
Saturday, October 9, 1 - 4 p.m.
$20 for Members; $25 for Non-members

Savage Fashions (ages 10+)
Artist Helma Groot will help kids turn recycled garments into carnivorous plant-themed fashions. The day will end with a runway show for parents and photo shoot. No sewing experience required. Supplies included in cost. Garments will be placed on display through the end of the Savage Gardens exhibition, and then returned to the students.
