Learn more about the work of Dale Chihuly, renowned artist and a pioneer of the American Studio Glass Movement at The John F. Wolfe Chihuly Resource Center at Franklin Park Conservatory.
Named for John F. Wolfe, chairman and CEO of The Dispatch Printing Company and publisher of The Columbus Dispatch, the Chihuly Resource Center provides:
- A non-lending library of Chihuly titles, DVDs, and exhibition catalogs
- A flat screen TV and computer station for viewing materials and researching Chihuly’s website.
- A photographic timeline illustrating the evolution of Chihuly’s work
- Drawings and glass artworks by Chihuly
The Chihuly Resource Center is open during the following hours and by appointment:
Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Teachers Resources
A Teacher Resource Kit for grades K through 12 is available for lending from the new resource center. The kit contains:
- Lesson plans based on Ohio’s Academic Content Standards in Visual Arts
- Information about the science of glass and how it is made
- A timeline of the history of glass
- A biography of Dale Chihuly
- A guide to his work illustrated with overhead transparencies
- A DVD, Chihuly at the Conservatory: Reshaping Space, a documentary made during the 2003-04 exhibition, and a CD of images from the same exhibition
