EXPERIENTIAL TOURS

Interactive group programs are available either as a workshop or an outreach:

Workshops are conducted at Franklin Park Conservatory and include admission to all exhibitions, an informative guided tour, interactive demonstrations, and a question and answer session led by a Conservatory specialist.

Outreach experiences are held at your location and are conducted by a Conservatory specialist.  Outreaches include an interactive presentation with assorted plant examples and visuals, a question and answer session, and a $20 admission voucher door prize to Franklin Park Conservatory.

Caring for your Houseplants
Watch your thumb turn green as you grow your houseplant knowledge with this fun and informative presentation.  A Conservatory specialist leads you through the basics of caring for many common houseplant species.  You’ll learn about growth habits, fertilization needs, pruning and repotting techniques, and light and water requirements.  Participants will also take home a handy reference guide to help you keep your houseplants happy!

Orchid Experience
Spark your love affair with the amazing orchid family as a Conservatory specialist brings stranger-than-fiction stories to life of orchid discovery and their unique pollination strategies. Get expert advice on choosing the right orchid for your home, tips for growing healthy plants, and a repotting demonstration.  Participants receive a helpful orchid care sheet for later use.

Blooms & Butterflies Experience
Discover the fascinating details of butterfly lifecycles along with other unusual facts about these stunning creatures. A Conservatory specialist uncovers the secrets of habitat requirements and plant selection to help ensure native butterflies visit your garden all summer long. Participants take home a plant guide for reference when creating your backyard butterfly oasis.

Additional Interactive Group Program details:

  • Workshops are scheduled for a 15 person minimum

  • 50% deposit due at registration ~ refundable up to 7 days prior to event

  • Balance due 24 hours prior to event ~ non-refundable

  • Two-week advance notification for bookings required ~ dates subject to availability

  • Outreach ONLY: Site to provide electrical outlet, extension cord, head table, seating for participants, screen or wall appropriate for screening, LCD projector*           

  • $15 per person

*An LCD projector can be provided for an additional $25 fee.
