Flower Study in Watercolor (3 Week Workshop)

This is a series of hands-on classes led by artist, Miriam Baranov.

Learn all the basic watercolor skills you’ll need to paint an up-close flower study! The first class will focus on the basics of watercolor and sketching. During the second class, students will apply those skills to some small sketches. The third week will include painting a full-sized still-life of a flower growing in the Conservatory’s gardens!

This class is perfect for beginners, and all supplies will be provided. The flower species used will be determined before class based on what’s currently in bloom.

Class Schedule

Classes are Sundays September 11, 18 & 25 from 2-4pm. Registration includes all three class dates.

Instructor: Miriam Baranov "Hello. My name is Miriam and I am a realist painter and educator who recently moved to the Columbus area. I have extensive history with watercolor and my work includes realistic portraits, illustrations and loose watercolor doodles. I love the freedom and spontaneity of watercolor. It is directly related to self-expression. There is a magical quality in the transparency and brilliancy of the medium which has had me hooked on it since day one. Every time I pick up the brush and let the water carry the pigment I learn something new, that is why this medium is so fun and exciting to teach."
