The Conservatory has partnered with Maroon Arts Group to present “ROOTS: An Open Expression in Identity.” Join us as we lend the mic, light up the screen, open the dance floor, and work the brush to express identity with stories of resilience. Enjoy an authentic experience of poetry, music, visual art, dance and refreshments to celebrate resiliency and our collective breakthrough from the uncertainty of the past months
Maroon Arts Group has selected featured performers but there will be several open mic spots available. They are dedicated to giving light and providing a platform for conscious art centered around the preservation and promotion of cultures of African descent. They are one of four organizations that helped conceptualize the current art exhibition on display at the Conservatory, Resilience in Nature: We Are the Roses that Grew from the Concrete. Join their village and stay connected with future ROOTS events by signing up on their website.
