A foundation for a healthy and productive garden is healthy soil! Before you plant your garden, there are several steps you can take in the spring and throughout the year to ensure your garden beds are as prepared as you are. In this class, we will also learn how to turn your kitchen scraps and yard waste into nutrient dense compost that enriches soil and reduces landfill waste. Darien Blackwell from The Compost Exchange will guide you through the basics of the composting process, from setting up a bin, to harvesting your finished compost, as well as providing other compost resources for your home.

Students in this class will receive 1 free month of compost pick-up curbside service from The Compost Exchange!
