Vegetable Gardening

This is an educational class taught by Master Gardener, Francine Sevel-Goldsmith.

It’s National Gardening Week! Gardening season has begun but there’s still plenty of time to have a successful season. Learn everything your need to know to have a wonderful vegetable patch. This class will focus on:

  • Planning: site selection and size, seeds vs. transplants, selecting vegetable varieties, raised beds & container gardening.

  • Planting: when to plant, succession planting, companion planting.

  • Maintaining: watering and fertilizing, prevention and management of garden pests, insects & diseases.

Instructor: Fran Sevel-Goldsmith Fran Sevel-Goldsmith, Ph.D. is a Franklin County Master Gardener with advanced specializations in soil and community garden leadership. She is also a member of the Worthington Community Gardens where she likes to grow unusual and heirloom vegetables.
