Autumn Leaves: The Mosaic Abstract Design

October 14, 2017, 1-3pm

We’ll be learning basic watercolor techniques such as laying the wash, wet into wet, hard edge and soft edge. Help with set up of the supplies is demonstrated in the first class. This is a chance to express the warm colors of autumn in a mosaic pattern.

Autumn Paths: The Traditional Landscape

October 21, 2017, 1-3pm

Using our own photographs or favorite prints of paths in the woods, we will start the landscape with a big brush. Big brushes are a good way to “lay the wash” in larger areas such as skies and foregrounds such as fields. We will be finding the light source and expressing it with beams through the trees.

Autumn Still Life: Glass Reflections

Oct. 28, 2017; 1-3 PM

Learn some easy tricks to painting glass reflections as we enjoy painting the shades of apples. A still life will be provided along with an outline and demonstration.

Autumn Waterway Mirrors

November 4, 2017, 1-3 PM

The streams make wonderful subjects for landscapes in watercolor. Using your own photos or the instructors, you will be able to create mirrors of the land reflecting in the water. It’s a simple trick that will allow you some freedom to create.
