Franklin Park Conservatory and the Central Ohio Woodturners are partnering to present a contemporary juried art exhibition that celebrates the art and craft of woodturning. All works in the show are submitted by members of the Central Ohio chapter of the American Association of Woodturners.
With a long, rich history, woodturning is a unique form of woodworking that uses a lathe to produce the work. Originally created for utility purposes, today woodturning produces all forms of intricate shapes and designs that range from functional to sculptural works of art.
The Conservatory welcomes guest juror Betty Scarpino to assist in selecting the final works to go on display in the Cardinal Health Gallery. Scarpino is a nationally recognized sculptor, contemporary artists and woodturner. Her award-winning work is on display and for sale in fine art galleries across the United States.
