The exhibition Diálogos will feature works by seven local Latinx artists. These artists represent Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico and the United States. The artworks exhibited represent a variety of mediums, including installation, new media, printmaking, and painting.
Each of the artists, through their work, explores their experiences of being a Latinx artist in the United States while addressing themes of dislocation, integration, cultural identity, and politics. Through their respective mediums, the artists answer these questions personally, challenging the audience to actively engage in dialogue via the bridge created by their work. It is the hope of these artists that the experience of Diálogos will lead to a deeper examination, exploration, and understanding of their role as Latinx artists in the United States.
