El Color-ES

01-21-2023 05-29-2023 DURING GENERAL ADMISSION & SPECIAL ENGAGEMENTS (AFTER 5PM)

El Color - ES is a gallery of work by local artist, Elena Osterwalder, featuring pieces of Ámate (handmade bark paper) and installations of hundreds of watercolor board tiles dyed with organic colors made from flowers and leaves.

The artwork was created using an ecologically friendly process and builds on the practices and color knowledge of ancient indigenous people from Mexico who revered nature.

“Much like a sacred alchemy, the visual outcome of each piece is not predetermined but based on chance interactions of the dyes in time and in the atmosphere. I hope that visitors will stop and look at the different colors produced and feel the energy released from the connection with nature from ancient times”.
