Visitor Experience

Health & Safety Procedures In accordance with state and city guidelines, the Conservatory has updated many of our health and safety policies.

Thank you to all of our guests for their cooperation. It is only with your continued support that we can remain a safe place to visit.

Ticketing Reserving tickets in advance ensures the easiest check-in experience and guarantees you are able to visit during your preferred date and time.

Face Coverings The City of Columbus mandates all guests must wear face coverings while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Unvaccinated guests should wear face coverings during their entire visit.

Masks Available At Main Entrance
Sanitization Thorough sanitization procedures and air purification systems are utilized. Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the facility.

Capacity The facility’s capacity limit has been adjusted and one-way traffic restrictions have been lifted.


On View Through January 9, 2022 Holiday Blooms We’ve decked the Conservatory’s halls, and they’re blooming with holiday spirit! Visitors can spend the season amidst distinctly themed and photo-ready holiday vignettes featuring hundreds of unique poinsettias, the famous poinsettia trees and more!

On View Through January 9, 2022 Conservatory Aglow Each evening the gardens will transform into a wonderland of lights for guests to enjoy. Pass through the winter-themed light tunnel to see new displays, including the reimagined Topiary Collection. These fun additions to Conservatory Aglow are featured alongside light displays that are back and better than ever!

On View Through January 9, 2022 Paul Busse Garden Railway Paul Busse Garden Railway is now a holiday destination! Nine G scale model trains travel across over 1,000 feet of track and around four enchanting botanical landscapes that are decorated with holiday lights.

Entries Due: November 27–28 | Display: December 1–31 Gingerbread Competition & Display The theme for this year’s gingerbread competition is “There is no place like home for the holidays.” Enter in one of three categories—Youth, Adult & Family or Community Organization. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category. Conservatory guests will vote on the Best of Show, a $500 prize.

All entries must be dropped off on Saturday, Nov 27, or Sunday, Nov 28, 10am–4pm or 5–9pm. Entries will be on display in the Conservatory from December 1–31, 2021. Entry forms and contest rules are available online.

November 24 | 11am–3pm Sweet Turkeys turkey-made-from-sweets Listen to a story about the turkey that got away and make a sweet, turkey-shaped cookie ($4 per cookie).

November 26-27 | 11am-3pm Create A Gingerbread House gingerbread-house-details Head to The Wells Barn for an afternoon of gingerbread fun! Create a mini gingerbread house with graham crackers, icing and candy. Guests can choose to create their gingerbread house onsite or take it to go ($7 per house kit).

December 4-5 & 11-12 | 8-11am Breakfast with Santa lights-in-evergreen-boughs Breakfast with Santa is back and totally reimagined! “Catch” your breakfast from Katie’s Pancakes who will be onsite flipping pancakes. Enjoy all the pancakes and sausage you can eat, plus fresh orange juice or coffee and a visit with the big guy himself, Santa!

December 26 | 11am & 2pm Celebrate Kwanzaa fronds-with-light-shining-through Tony West and the Imani dancers will celebrate the first day and principal of Kwanzaa: Umoja, meaning unity. Their performance will feature the vibrant style of West African drumming and dance.

December 27 | 11am & 2pm Fantastical Hedgehog Magic Show Children’s entertainer, Erica Carlson, brings comedy, magic, and her famous hedgehog, “Hedgie”, together in this performance that’s fun for all ages.

December 28 | 11am & 2pm Comedy Juggler, Matt Jergens This international gold medalist juggler will thrill and captivate the audience with his one-man variety show of juggling, stunts, acrobatics and comedy.

December 30 | 11am & 2pm Realm of Reptiles Desert Biome Marissa Dubina shares the riveting world of reptiles during this memorable experience. The show includes appearances by a tortoise, lizard, and snakes!
