Visit the Franklin Park Conservatory Apiary, and experience beekeeping first hand with members of COBA (Central Ohio Beekeepers Association)! Watch from outside of the enclosure as you see beekeepers take care of the hives, or jump in for yourself- if you want to participate, we require a veil, jacket, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. We’ll also have a waiver for you to sign.
Please keep in mind that inspections are weather dependent and may be cancelled at short notice if storms or cold pop up.
COBA will provide safari-style veils that cover face and neck. If people have their own bee jackets, they should bring them. Light-colored, long-sleeves and long pants, with close-toed shoes. Eyes must be protected.
