Outreach Programs

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is dedicated to spreading horticulture knowledge and appreciation beyond the confines of park. Through community outreach programs, we are helping to create new edible gardens, city beautification projects and home gardens throughout the community. Elsewhere, the Teen Corps program provides essential skills for young adults interested in obtaining a job in the green industry.

Scotts Miracle-Gro Company Community Garden Campus Space for our neighbors to manage community garden plots and connect with nature. The community garden campus is free to the public. Growing to Green Growing to Green is Columbus’ largest organized effort to promote and provide free resources for community gardening and city beautification. Farmers Market The 2023 Farmers Market season is June 7-September 27. Vendor and food truck applications are now open! Teen Corps Teen Corps is a community-supported summer program designed to teach life and work skills to local teens through hands-on experiences in urban farming. FPC STEM Classroom Inspired by the Conservatory’s unique resources, this four-week program serves Columbus City School students to bring STEM concepts to life through experiential learning. Head Start Head Start supports early childhood education for low-income children and families while creating opportunities for educator development. Plant Societies Plant societies are outside organizations of passionate and knowledgeable individuals who are dedicated to learning, growing and teaching about specific plants, plant families or specific plant art forms.
