Columbus Blooms In Watercolor

Experience the colorful magic of Columbus Blooms with a watercolor class celebrating the bright colors of spring bulbs! Class will begin with a walk through the Conservatory grounds to view our gardens and gain some inspiration, and weather pending, an outdoor painting demonstration.

Back in the classroom, you’ll learn watercolor basics: brush control, layering, color mixing, and techniques through demonstrations, excercises, and one-on-one feedback from the instructor. You will leave class with your own finished painting portaying a collection of bright spring flowers, and confidence in your skills as a watercolor artist!

All supplies are included. All levels welcome- perfect for anyone looking to learn watercolor fundamentals while creating a beautiful seasonal painting.

Instructor: Miriam Baranov Miriam Baranov is an internationally recognized, published artist specializing in classical realism. She trained extensively in Old Master techniques through renowned apprenticeships in the U.S. and Florence, Italy.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, she balances teaching and creating, with a focus on portraiture and nature—landscapes, trees, and botanicals. A dedicated educator, she shares her expertise in traditional techniques, helping students master realism with depth and precision.

At Franklin Park Conservatory, Miriam leads an immersive study of botanical art, exploring the beauty of nature through a classical approach.
