Biome Bonanza: Desert Heat & Cool Art

It’s a Biome Bonanza at the Conservatory this summer! We are highlighting some of our special features of each of our unique biomes June, July, August and September.  

Deserts have sand & sand makes glass…with a little more heat! Come learn about the process of Ohio’s earliest industry – glassmaking, as well as the plant species that grow in the Desert Biome. Also, the whole country will be celebrating America’s 250th birthday this month, so the conservatory will be joining in this patriotic celebration with red/white/& blue items created in the hot shop demonstration

We will be joined by various glass artists such as Diane McMullen and our own hot shop Gaffer, Lisa HorkinAlso, Marne Titchenell, Wildlife Program Director at OSU Extension office will join us with a display from the Ohio Bat Working Group to share all about how important bats are to Ohio and the desert biome.
