Campfire Cuisine

Experience the timeless tradition of cooking over an open fire while celebrating the flavors of fresh, seasonal ingredients. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of building a cooking fire for camping, and prepare a delicious meal using cast iron, grill grates, and foil packets. We’ll use fresh herbs, vegetables, and fruits to transform simple recipes into memorable outdoor meals. Whether you’re planning your next camping trip or simply looking for a new way to cook with the seasons, you’ll leave with practical skills, fresh recipes, and confidence to bring the magic of campfire cooking home. Cap off class with a trail mix bar to take on the road!

Instructor: Nicole Tabit Nicole Tabit is the Adult Program Manager at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Her degree is in Natural Resource Management and Visitors Services from The Ohio State University. She loves to hike and be outdoors, but she also loves to create and combine her love for the arts and environment by tying natural elements into her art projects.
