FPC Homeschool Day: The Buzz About Pollinators

Explore the amazing relationship between plants and the creatures who pollinate them! Learn about bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators through hands-on learning stations led by our team of FPC educators. Guided tours of our Metamorphosis Lab and Blooms & Butterflies exhibit will also be offered as part of the ticketed experience. Bring the learning home with extended activity ideas and your own pollinator- friendly flower to plant at home.

Programming designed for grades K-8 (although older students are also welcome). Stay after and explore the rest of the Conservatory until close. Open to all homeschool families. Online registration required.

Accessibility

Wheelchairs and motorized scooters are available for free on a first-come-first-served basis.

Designated parking spaces are available near the Main Entrance. Guests can be dropped off a short distance from the Main Entrance if necessary.

Service Animals are the only animals permitted at the Conservatory.

Is registration required?

Yes, all attendees—including parents—need to register in advance for the event. Homeschool Days are popular events and registration may fill up quickly.

Do I have to arrive at my ticketed time?

Yes. Guests will select an arrival time during registration. We kindly ask you to arrive as close to that time as possible to assist with traffic flow during the event.

What's the appropriate age for Homeschool Days?

While all homeschool families are welcome, programming is designed for grades K-8. Programs may not be appropriate for younger visitors.

Do members receive a discount on Homeschool Day?

Unfortunately, Members do not receive a discount on this educational program. While visiting for this event, Member discounts are still eligible at the Garden Café and Botanica Gift Shop & Greenhouse.

Do I need to accompany my student?

Yes, all students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Is there parking available?

Yes, the Conservatory has a free parking lot for guests located off of East Broad Street. Guests can also be dropped off or picked up in front of the Main Entrance. Please see our map.

If necessary, additional parking is available at the Franklin Park Adventure Center. It is a further distance from the Main Entrance.
