Garden Walk: Through the Daylilies

Celebrated for their resilience and seasonal color, daylilies offer far more variety than meets the eye. On this guided walk through the Ohio Daylily Collections Garden led by members of the Columbus Daylily Society (MCDS), you will encounter firsthand the impressive transition of the daylily from historic “plain janes” to modern, award-winning marvels. In addition to experiencing the rich diversity of daylily cultivars – from subtle hues to bold patterns and forms, we will explore the process of creating these garden gems through hybridization. During this program, you’ll learn practical growing knowledge and design insights drawn from real-world experience. Through observation and discussion, gain a fresh perspective on this adaptable garden favorite and discover new ways to use daylilies in vibrant, low-maintenance landscapes.
