Instructor: Charles Lucius, MCDS Charles is a life-long, Ohio-based, passionate gardener. Nearly four decades ago, Charles discovered a deep appreciation for daylilies, captivated by their remarkable beauty and impressive diversity. He was especially drawn to the ease of growing daylilies—and how they can provide such joy without a lot of special care.

Over the years, Charles has cultivated an extraordinary collection, growing more than 3,000 distinct daylily varieties. His expertise and enthusiasm for daylilies have taken him across the United States, where he has toured numerous daylily gardens as a certified flower judge for the American Daylily Society. In addition to judging, Charles has contributed to the local gardening community by serving as an Officer in the central Ohio daylily society for more than 12 years. Together with his wife, Cynthia, Charles operated a commercial daylily business, Amity Abloom LLC. At their nursery, they cultivated over 40,000 daylily plants for sale, sharing their love of these beautiful flowers with others. In this upcoming presentation, Charles is excited to share his enthusiasm for modern daylilies, hoping to inspire others to appreciate and grow these stunning plants.
