Visiting Bonsai Artist Series with Jason Parrish

Join the Columbus Bonsai Society for the inaugural Visiting Bonsai Artist Series, featuring nationally recognized bonsai artist Jason Parrish of Kawa No Oka Bonsai in Spencer, Indiana. This free event brings the art, history, and beauty of bonsai to Central Ohio through hands-on learning and live demonstrations.

Whether you’re a beginner, an experienced enthusiast, or simply curious about bonsai, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from one of the country’s respected bonsai artists.

Morning Workshop | 10 am–1 pm
Participate in a bring-your-own-tree (BYOT) workshop or purchase a tree on-site if you don’t have one. Jason will cover tropical bonsai care, styling techniques, design principles, and provide one-on-one guidance throughout the session.

Afternoon Demonstration | 2–5 pm
Watch a live bonsai demonstration featuring audience interaction, detailed explanations of design decisions, and tree analysis. Gain inspiration and practical knowledge to apply to your own bonsai journey.

This event is free and open to the public, and no prior bonsai experience is necessary.
