Removal of Showhouse and Palm House Glass Begins

Some time has passed since our last construction update. While significant progress has been made behind the scenes, there haven’t been many visible changes. That has now changed as crews begin removing the glass from the Dorothy M. Davis Showhouse and the John F. Wolfe Palm House for replacement.

This phase of the project will likely take several weeks to complete. Workers will remove small sections of glass and replace them with new, appropriately curved Victorian-style glass. This process will continue until all of the glass has been replaced.

The removal of glass will be an interesting process to watch, so during your next visit, spend some time in the Mallway and watch the work happen in real time.
