Celebrate Infinity Day with programming that explores the endless patterns of the plant world- past and present. From ancient fossils to living specimens, discover how repetition, spirals, and branching forms have shaped life on Earth for millions of years. Uncover the connections between math, plants, and history to see how nature’s patterns continue to unfold all around us.

Infinite Nature August 5 | 6-7pm | FREE

Discover the hidden patterns woven throughout the natural world in this mindful guided exploration of fractals and infinity in nature. long the way, we’ll reflect on the beauty of nature’s endless designs and the connections between math, wellness, and the living world.
Pawpaw: Ancient Fruit, Modern Treat August 8 | 3-4:30pm | FREE

Pawpaws: Ohio’s native fruit! The pawpaw tree is prized for its distinctive fruits, which ripen in late summer. Join Valerie Libbey of Libbey Farms for a guided walk & talk through our Community Garden Campus to look at pawpaw trees in the garden.
A Long Time Ago & Far Far Away August 9 | 2-3pm | FREE

Join Orton Geologic Museum Curator Dale Gnidovec for a journey through Ohio’s ancient past. From tropical seas and steamy swamps to glaciers towering a mile high, the land we call Ohio has transformed over the last 500 million years.
Let's Grow Garden Through the month of August

Math is all around us! To celebrate Infinity Day, learn about the never-ending cycles that keep things growing. Visit the Let's Grow Garden through the month of August in the Children's Garden to discover how water moves through the environment, how plants create the next generation from seed, and how healthy soils support life year after year.

Ancient Plant Walk Through the month of August

Travel back in time and uncover a trail of ancient plants, right here on Conservatory grounds! Our ancient plant walk features plants that shared ancestors who lived among the dinosaurs of the Jurassic age. Pick up a passport, find all the ancient plants in the biomes and on grounds, collect leaf and bark rubbings for each plant, and learn fascinating facts about these living fossils!

Intro to Beekeeping August 4 | 6-8pm | All Ages

In this class, we will explore the hidden contents of bee boxes; dive into the seasonal responsibilities of the beekeeper; discuss the fascinating biology and social behavior of honey bees; discuss responsible gardening for pollinators; and discuss beekeeping safety.
Cocktails at the Conservatory: From Vine to Vintage August 6 | 5:30-9:30pm | 21+ Only

Celebrate the journey of the grape, from vineyard to glass! Taste delicious wines from local vineyards, sampling selections that showcase the diversity of the growing season.
