Plein Air Painting

This is a hands-on class taught by artist, Michelle Boerio.

Curious about plein air painting and want to paint outdoors but don’t know where to start? Try painting in the great outdoors during this standalone workshop with instructor Michelle Boerio. Students will get a fun introduction to painting landscapes on location, as well as how to use color and brushstrokes to show the unique characteristics of their subjects. This class is appropriate for beginning and intermediate painters and more advanced painters who want help with plein air. 

This class will mainly be outdoors, please bring a water bottle and sun protection. If this event needs to be rescheduled due to weather, a decision will be made 48 hours in advance. Students will be notified via email. All supplies included: easels, canvases, brushes, and acrylic paint.

Instructor: Michelle Boerio Michelle Boerio is a visual artist and educator. She loves to make art that uses multiple mediums to make the world seem a little weirder and a little more beautiful. In 2021, she earned a BFA at the Ohio State University with a focus in Painting and Drawing and later a MA in Museum Education at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Currently, she lives and works in Columbus, Ohio, where she divides her time between making art and teaching art with students of all ages.
