Hot Shop

Housed in the outdoor glassblowing pavilion, the Hot Shop features daily demonstrations (March–December) by local, professional gaffers–master glass blowers–as they gather molten glass and transform it into a finished piece of blown-glass artwork. Every step of the process is described in informative, 25-minute sessions. Glass pieces created in the Hot Shop are available for sale at Botanica.

Try your hand at glassblowing! Check out available classes below, or register for a personal glassblowing session.

Know Before You Go:

  • Personal Glassblowing Sessions and Hot Shop Classes (excluding Sizzling Saturdays) are open to children and teens ages 10-17 as long as a parent or guardian is present.
  • The Hot Shop is located outside in the North Courtyard of the Conservatory so please dress for the weather.
  • Each student will take home one piece of artwork. All glass pieces need overnight annealing (cooling process) and will be ready for pick up or shipped (extra cost) the next day.

Personal Glassblowing Sessions

The Conservatory offers personal glassblowing sessions from March–December.
A 3-hour session is $250 ($225 for members) for 1 to 2 guests.
To schedule a personal glassblowing session, please contact Mike Stepanski at mstepanski@fpconservatory.org or 614.715.8017.
