Seventh Son Collaboration

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and Seventh Son Brewing are collaborating on a beer and three cocktails inspired by the Conservatory’s botanicals. Funds from each beer and cocktail sold support the Conservatory’s nonprofit mission thanks to Seventh Son’s Giving Everyday program. The beer and cocktails will be available March 2-June 1, 2023 at Seventh Son, Antiques on High and Getaway Brewing and highlighted at various events at Seventh Son and the Conservatory.

About The Beer & Cocktails

Biome Beer Biome is a Botanical Belgian Wheat Ale. It features a base of barley, wheat, oats, hops from New Zealand, dragon fruit puree and dried chamomile flowers. The ale blooms with botanical flavors and the chamomile comes through on the nose. The dragonfruit puree contributes a wonderful golden-pink hue.

Biome is special because it's of the Conservatory itself! Last year, Seventh Son’s team collected samples from fruits and flowers at the Conservatory with the intention of finding yeast with positive brewing characteristics. Yeast found on a dragon fruit in the Desert Biome managed to ferment beer wort and was used to co-ferment the beer.

Where To Find: The beer will be available at Seventh Son on draft and in six packs. Biome can also be enjoyed at the Conservatory's Garden Café and during Cocktails at the Conservatory events. Seventh Son is located at 1101 North 4th Street, Columbus, Ohio 43201.
Cosmic Dancer Cocktail The name comes directly from the 'Cosmic Dancer' hibiscus found in the Pacific Island Water Garden Biome.

This cocktail is made with Watershed Bourbon, Lillet Rouge, rose petal hibiscus syrup and lemon.

Where To Find: Cosmic Dancer will be on the menu at Getaway Brewing located at 108 North High Street, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
The Flowers She Sent Taking its name from the title of a song by The Magnetic Fields, The Flowers She Sent is inspired by the Conservatory's spring botanicals.

This cocktail is made with Watershed Guild Gin, St. Germain, Crème de Violette, Amaro Nonino, lavender honey & lemon

Where To Find: The Flowers She Sent will be on the menu at Seventh Son Brewing located at 1101 North 4th Street, Columbus, Ohio 43201
Amphioxus Pronounced "am-fee-ok-suss", Amphioxus is named after the Begonia Amphioxus which bears the same color & dot pattern found on the cocktail and is broadly inspired by the begonias found in the Dorothy M. Davis Showhouse.

This cocktail is made with kiwi-infused Wray & Nephew overproof rum, Midori, Noble Cut Lime-cello, Giffard Coconut, Vedrenne Creme de Menthe & lime.

Where To Find: Amphioxus will be on the menu at Antiques on High located at 714 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43206.

Impact of the Collaboration

This collaboration between two treasured members of the Columbus community supports our nonprofit mission: to elevate quality of life and connect the community through educational, cultural and social experiences inspired by horticulture.

One dollar from every sale of Biome draft or six-pack purchased and one dollar from every sale of each specialty cocktail will be donated to the Conservatory. By meeting up with friends and family and grabbing a drink, you’ll be able to give back and support local businesses in a fun and easy way!

By coming together over a drink, we can grow a greener, healthier, and happier Central Ohio community. Your support will connect community members, like you, with the natural world and with each other by supporting the Conservatory’s operations and mission:

If you’re inspired to further your impact, we welcome you in making an additional gift today. Cheers!
