Celebrate the beauty of a spring morning with Coffee at the Conservatory, a special ticketed event at the Wells Barn at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Wander through the gardens as they come alive with fresh blooms and morning light, all while sampling exceptional coffees from local roasters. Enjoy a peaceful, wellness-inspired atmosphere featuring local vendors and entertainment. This adults-only experience is the perfect way to connect with friends, savor the flavors of the season, and ease into the day surrounded by nature. This event is rain or shine! 

  • Coffee at the Conservatory is 10am-1:30pm and strictly 18+. Infants and toddlers are not permitted. IDs will be checked if planning to purchase alcohol. All guests are required to show valid, physical ID – regardless of age. Photos of ID are not permitted.

Math in Bloom presents Pi Day (3.14)

Join us on 3.14 to learn about the most famous digit in all of mathematics- pi! Discover how the concept of pi can be found in nature at the Conservatory, and how it has proved itself as the motivation for artists, filmmakers, educators and more throughout history. Become inspired by pi with a fruit tree giveaway (while supplies last) so you can grow your own pie filling at home, complete a scavenger hunt full of fun facts, educational stations for all ages, and artist demos throughout our grounds!

We are celebrating the season with not one, but two nights of 21+ access to the magic of Conservatory Aglow. Stroll through thousands of festive lights, including the signature light tunnel, whimsical penguin village, and projected winter scenes—all completely kid-free. Each night features a different lineup of local breweries and mixologists serving up a wide variety of holiday cocktails and seasonal beer samples. It’s the perfect occasion to grab your group, soak in the festive cheer!

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! Grab your crew — and your furry friends! — for our biggest sports-themed blowout! Sample an unbeatable lineup of craft beers and hard seltzers from top local breweries and vendors. The gloves are off as you compete in classic games like cornhole, inflatable football toss, darts, and foosball, all set to the beats of a live DJ. Don’t have a dog? No problem — all 21+ guests are welcome for a night of friendly competition and spirited fun with our canine companions! 

This event takes place rain or shine! For this event only, dogs are more than welcome inside the Conservatory building, which has air-conditioned areas. We will have lots of water bowls, misters, splash pads and fans to keep your pup as comfortable as possible. 

The Conservatory reserves the right to ask guests and their dog(s) to leave the property due to misbehavior or difficulties involving the dog. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation!

Winter Ice Festival The Winter Ice Festival is back in 2026 on January 14, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24 & 25, with more special engagement nights to enjoy a stroll through the wintery grounds and have some winter fun!   

Cheer on your favorite ice carver during Fire & Ice, a high-energy carving showdown featuring the pros from Rock on Ice. Each night at 7pm, artists race the 45-minute clock, and guests help choose the winner. Come early to watch warm-ups and stay after to meet the carvers.

Enjoy ice skating on the synthetic rink from 5 to 9pm. Bring your own skates or borrow a pair. Skating and rentals are free with admission.

When it’s time to warm up, explore the tropical biomes and admire the glowing Chihuly Collection. Kids can enjoy winter crafts, games, and puzzles in the Grand Atrium.

Columbus Blooms A dazzling celebration of spring! More than 140,000 tulips, daffodils, and pansies throughout the gardens and container displays combine with stars of the botanical garden. Magnolias, lilacs, cherries, viburnum, and thousands of perennials bring an exciting burst of scents and colors after a long winter slumber.

Plants bloom throughout the season starting in March and continuing through the following months.

Public Ice Skating

Spend some time outside this long holiday weekend!  Pull on your coat, scarf, and mittens and enjoy some ice skating sure to warm you up and your heart pumping!   Super Games synthetic ice skating rink will be on site and open for public skating regardless of the temperature. Guests can bring their own skates, or borrow from the on-site inventory. The rink is limited in capacity to about 60 guests skating at a time and will operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Embrace the chill and kick off the Conservatory’s Ice Festival with this 21+ experience! The evening includes perfectly chilled, ready-to-drink cocktail samples, served right over ice while you enjoy festive outdoor lights, ice carving and an outdoor skating rink. Bundle up and toast to the heart of winter!

To keep guests cozy throughout the evening, outdoor fire pits and heaters will be set up around the grounds. S’mores kits will be available for purchase at the Watershed Bar, with a nearby fire pit or fire barrel to gather around and toast. Guests can also warm up inside the NEW heated Garden Pavilion, which will host two alcohol vendors and fun LED games throughout the evening.

Peregrine Quartet: This quartet performs a mix of jazz and funky pop. The group is fronted by soul queen, Jesse Powers and includes guitarist, Ryan Hall, pianist Tiberius Shields, and drummer Paul Meeker. Collectively, they have more than 45 years of experience in the Midwest music scene.

Color, Fly, Butterfly The Cardinal Health Gallery will experience its own metamorphosis into an immersive butterfly coloring experience which invites guests to color their own butterfly and watch the butterfly creation come alive in the illustrated Pacific Island Water Garden.

Select and color a butterfly at a coloring station then scan the page at the kiosk to release the butterfly into the digital environment. Watch as the butterfly flutters around the garden and swoops down for a snack on a nearby flower!

Through The Vines: A Seasonal Journey A site-specific installation created by the artists at Applied Imagination will invite guests to explore the lights, sights, and sounds of the four seasons with a series of vine arches made of natural plant materials. Pass through the lively bright blooms of spring, transition to the warmth and vitality of summer, wander through the rich hues and crisp air of fall and then finally experience the tranquility and serene beauty of winter.

Explore the ever-changing tapestry of nature’s cycle within this captivating exhibit installation.

Join us for an evening of botanical creativity at Franklin Park Conservatory! Garden To Glass is where mixology meets nature in an exciting cocktail competition like no other, featuring award winning spirits from Watershed Distillery.

Witness top bartenders and mixologists craft unique cocktails using fresh herbs, fruits, and botanicals inspired by different biomes of the world. Sip and savor these innovative creations while enjoying stunning garden views. Whether you’re a cocktail enthusiast, foodie, or nature lover, Garden to Glass promises an unforgettable experience.

Your ticket includes samples of 15 competitor cocktails.

  • This event is strictly 21+. Infants and toddlers are not permitted. IDs will be checked at the door. All guests are required to show valid, physical ID – regardless of age. Photos of ID are not permitted.
  • All guests, including all member levels and Monarchs, must reserve tickets in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the door and may sell out leading up to the event.

Orchids Orchids returns in grand style, taking over the North Conservatory with more than 2,600 stunning orchids. Explore vibrant displays woven among the plant collections, where orchids take center stage amidst bromeliads, cyclamen, and vivid foliage.

Discover floral topiaries inspired by animals native to our Rainforest, Himalayan, and Desert biomes, along with suspended spheres, cascading arrangements, and a spiraling column of blooms—all celebrating the beauty and diversity of orchids.

Paul Busse Garden Railway All aboard! The Paul Busse Garden Railway is arriving at Conservatory station.

9 G scale model trains travel across 1,122 feet of track that runs high and low through themed destinations: Fairytale Land, Wild West Town, European Travels and the animal-centric Who Lives Here.

Guests can journey with the trains through a miniature world of 51 botanical models made from all-natural plant material. Special elements to add to your itinerary include an enchanted tree hollow, two waterfalls, a bubbling brook and plantings specific to each themed destination.
